Three Weeks Old!

Hey everyone! Sarah Kate is 3 weeks and 1 day old. Man the time is flying by. We are still adjusting to the sleep/eat/change schedule. Jen got some good rest last night, and is doing some serious house cleaning. My mom went back to Indiana on Tuesday, she was here a week and was a big help. It was sad to see her go. Mike McShea and Kris "Stew-Jam" Baker were here the day mom left. We ran into town and got some Vinny's for dinner, came home and everyone went to bed. When I say everyone I mean except for Daddy and Sarah Kate. We finally got her down and the night went by. Yesterday I had to go to the Dr. Thanks to Stew and Mike for being troopers and taking me, it helped Jen relax with the baby. Jen and I have been doing some cleaning getting ready for the Mountjoy's "Jim and Christina +3" to make it down here. They were in Lexington at 7:30 am, but who knows, it could be 3 days from now before they arrive. Jen's Maid or Honor is in town, and we look forward to seeing her "Melissa", Jason, Chase, and Leslie! Also we are supposed to see Jeannie Green. Enjoy the picture of Jen-Jen multi-tasking. Sweeping and carrying the baby.

First bath and stuff

Hey everyone! We are doing great. Jen isn't getting a lot of sleep, so the nights are kinda long. I am doing what I can to help, but since she wants food when she wakes up there isn't much that I can do. I try to help by changing her if that is what is needed. We gave her her fist bath post umbilical cord, it was fun, and Sarah Kate didn't know really what to think. Today Jen and I were changing her and she did some projectile pooping onto us, the table, floor and the clean diaper, haha. Enjoy the video.

2 Week Check-Up

Sarah Kate went to see Dr. Shelley today for her two week check-up. Dr. Shelley says that she looks great! Gaining weight and growing, so Mommy's milk is good stuff! She now weighs 7lbs 7oz and is 20 inches long. Yesterday, her umbilical cord fell off so she will be getting her first official bath soon. This afternoon, Jennifer Grayson came over and took a ton of pictures of Sarah ,so we will have some good, professional pictures to show off soon. I took this picture of her today while waiting to see Dr. Shelley.

Mommy and Sarah

Yesterday was our first day by ourselves. Unfortunately, Daddy had to go back to work. We had a pretty good day just the two of us, although we did miss Daddy. We took a trip into town and went to Memorial Hospital so that I could speak with the lactation consultants and purchase a pump. Time to start storing milk for when I go back to work and travel. We used the stroller for the first time and it was great. Last night we both actually got some decent sleep. Gary took and entertained Sarah after her 10:30pm feeding, allowing me to get a good 2 plus hours before she awoke to eat again. Today we are very excited because Grandma Sheryl (Gary's mom) is coming for a visit. We will be picking her up from the airport soon!

Out and About

Yesterday was Sarah Kate's first real day out and about. First, we went to Nee-Nee's work so that she could show her off. Of course, she was a big hit and they did not get any work done while we there. Then we met Grampa at Jalepeno's(daddy's favorite) for lunch. Next we went and saw Great Grandma and finally we went back to Nee-Nee's house. We all took a nap, mommy and daddy included and then had dinner with Sr. Pat, who as at the pool of course. Also, Nee-Nee's neighbor, Maeve came over to meet Sarah Kate. It was a big day!

Pics from a Pro

Hi everyone! Last night we were very fortunate. we had our good friend Sr. Pat come over and make us a wonderful meal. Also Nick and Jennifer Grayson came over and hooked baby Sarah up with her first photo shoot with a real pro! Besides getting all fussy and peeing on the set "You know how theses stars act", she did great. I would encourage anyone that needs some photography done to take a look at her work. Her site is www.jennifergraysonphotography.com and her work is awesome. Enjoy her photos and thanks again Jennifer!

1 week old!

Wow! It is hard to believe that Sarah is 1 week old today. This time last week, I was preparing to push and now that is all a distant memory! I would like to say thank you to my wonderful husband who has been doing an awesome job of updating the blog. I trust that everyone is enjoying it. I know I personally like going back and reading it. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers while I was in labor and your continued support everyday. Here is a picture we took today...she still has the hair!

The Gauntlet is down

Hey everyone, We had our first little bit of puppy jealousy yesterday. Also in a few hours Sarah Kate will be 1 week old. Back to the puppy, Toby Dog decided not to come out from under the bed for the entire day yesterday. I mean except to urinate in the middle of the floor in Sarah Kate's room. I guess we know how he feels. This is also the first time that I have seen Toby Dog turn his nose up to food in the 8 years that Jen and I have been together. We think it is all good now since Toby got up and wanted to eat, then got into bed with us. Talk to everyone later.

8 July

Hey everyone that is still tuning in. No post yesterday, sorry about that. We didn't do very much. Mike and Rene'e came over for dinner, we had pork chops, asparagus, and cheesy mashed potatoes, it made for a great meal. We slept ok, Jen is such a trooper getting up and feeding, changing, and soothing Sarah Kate. I spent from around 5 am till about 7ish in the chair with Sarah. Her and Daddy had a great nap together. I went to the VA and Jen took Sarah to the Dr's office for a little follow up blood work. She has gained an ounce, awesome. N o new pics to post, we will get some more on here today. See you guys later.

7 am, Little to no sleep last night

Hello again, This morning I am going to try to post some video on here, and maybe it will work. We didn't get much sleep, Sarah Kate was doing some cluster feeding, and when that happens we are at the mercy of they crying. I am glad a I have a few days off, because I couldn't do it today. I think that the stone is gone, but I am very itchy due to my allergy to percocet. Sometimes you just have to Deal with it to get rid of the pain. Enjoy the video, more to come. We also just had the first major blowout "poopy diaper", and we are excited about that.

2:30 am, fussy baby and more

Hello everyone, Jen and I are up, and Sarah Kate doesn't want to be asleep, ha ha. I seem to have a kidney stone brewing, and the pain keeps going from intense to not intense, this is a classic sign of having a stone. Sarah Kate seems to be cluster feeding, but right no cant turn the corner and sleep for a few hours. Jen is rocking her, and Mother Protection "Savannah" is pacing wondering what we are doing wrong. At this point even Toby dog is up wondering about. Hopefully we can get her down for a few, Jen and I need some shut eye.

Day 3

Well here we are, settling into our new life. I guess we will sleep when she sleeps, eat after her and do alot of staying at the house. No complaints what so ever though. Here is a good pic of 4 generations of woman. We have Jen's MA-MA, Mother, Jen and her daughter. I thought it was a great photo op, and I have printed one with the easy-share photo printer, thanks Kodak, haha. We hd a good night, as as per the TV show Scrubs, "It all Starts with Poo", haha. Hope everyone is enjoying the blog, and sorry that I have slowed down a bit. We have the laptop up, and if anyone likes to use Skype or would like to video chat through gmail just let us know, my user name on there is mtboy316. We will have it up and running from now on, or just give us a call.

4th of July Dress

I know I just posted, but we had to show you Sarah Kate's patriotic dress, thanks to her Nene' for the great dress. Thanks to Grandma Sheryl for the Army onesy!

4th of July, 4 pm

Hello everyone! It is a great and wonderful day in Pooler, GA. We are enjoying the new addition, and she is fitting in well. the dogs are seeming to adjust, and we are getting in the nap/feed/rest rotation. I took a good nap with Sarah Kate on the couch, and Jen had a good nap with her while she was feeding her earlier. We are waiting for some poo, and are a little concerned that she hasn't had a movement since last night. Here are a few more pics, enjoy and thanks again for all the great comments.

Day 2 at home, sleepless night #1

Hey everyone, we are home, things are great. Mike and Renee' came over and made us a fantastic dinner. Sarah is at home and her brother and sister "Toby and Savannah" are seeming to adjust to the new addition. Savannah freaked out a little when Sarah was crying last night, it was like "Mommy and Daddy help that baby". Jen fed and slept, daddy slept and changed some diapers. We got Sarah to take a pacifier and she seems to like it. Today is our Independence day, the Tour De France starts and we have a Nascar race tonight. We need to buy a few small things, but everything else seems to be in order. Thanks to everyone for the great support!

Going Home in about 2 hours!

Hey everyone, its Noon, and we are getting ready to wrap things up around here. Sr Pat, and Nene' are here. We have to thank Tommy and Amanda Cannon for the gift. We are waiting to see the Lactation nurse, then we will be loaded up and heading to Pooler. We are going to have to pick up Sarah's brother and sister "Our Dogs Toby and Savannah" from her grandparents house, then we are off to go home. We will continue to update and Jen will be taken over this blog.

10:45 am, day 1 almost over

We are doing great. Sarah Kate went and had her hearing test, and Jen is getting flowers from everyone under the sun. We are excited and doing the whole feeding, changing diapers and cat napping processs. Here a a few more pics, thanks to Helen Marie and Mike, Mike and Nene', Ma-Ma, Aunt Kay and Claire for the flowers. They are awesome. Feel free to call or visit, thanks also to Melissa Yao Hill for the breakfast for daddy. Dr Edwards just came in and said we could go home, we need to check with the pediatrician, if he says its ok, we are outta here, haha. I will update in a few hours, need to feed and wipe some booty.

Day 2

Hey everyone, we made it through the first night. This little lady loves to do some nursing. Jen has fed her at least 4 times, and they are almost an hour each. we have had a few poopy diapers also. I got some sleep on the worse chair ever made, and Jen has done some napping. The main problem is when the baby cries Jen is wide awake. Not to much else to report, we will get some pics today and get them posted. Sarah Kate has met her Grandpa and Nene' on her moms side, and also her Great Aunt and Great Grandmother. Well Sarah just came back from the nursery, so I will post later.

12:26, Sarah Kate is back

No worries, false alarm, its all good. We were told that it is from a little blood that she may have swallowed while coming out after the epiziotomy "spelling". So Jen is feeding and the whole family is awake again. So we will attempt to feed her, put her back down and get a little shut eye ourselves. On a good note Jen is off the IV fluids, and now is disconnected. talk to you guys later.

12:11 am, call the Dr.

Well, we were advised by the nurse to wake and change/feed the baby. A nurse earlier had told us to let baby Sarah Kate sleep if she wanted. So we woke her, changed a messy diaper, and then she threw up. Not really that alarming to us, but then the nurse kind of freaked out on us. she said that she didn't want to alarm us, but there needed to be some investigation. She took Sarah to the nursery and is having the charge nurse call the pediatrician. I am en route to watch through the glass. Nothing to be alarmed about, but hey, we are trying to keep this up to date for everyone. I will let everyone know what is up. I got a few hours of sleep, but Jen couldn't.

5 pm ish

Hey everyone and thanks for following the blog today.
Jen is doing great, a little sore, but now she has some McDonald's in her.
I also ate some dinner, and now I am ready for a nap. They took Sarah Kate away and
gave her a bath, did some checks on her, and now she is sleeping as snug as a bug in a rug.
Here are 2 more pics. Hope you guys have liked the blog so far.

1hr old

Here we are,

Mountjoy party of 3 has arrived. We are so excited. Jen's mom cut the cord, I was holding the leg and watched it all go down. Here is a post pic, we will get some more on here asap. Thanks for all the email support.

Hey everyone, its official, It's a Girl, Sarah Kate Mountjoy, 2 July 09, 2:12pm, 7lbs, 1 oz. 19.25 inches long. Momma and Sarah are doing great. Jen was a pure champ in the pushing. 1 pm, FULL DIALATION!

Well, the Dr is on the way, the nurse can feel the head and Jen feels some pressure. I will try to get some good delivery pics. She is at 9.5 for those scoring at home, the Russian judge only gave her a 9, haha.

Noon, Hour 7

Almost noon. We are sending Mr. Teelpe out to Pooler to let the dogs out and take them to their house. Toby Dog "Who has a rude awakening coming" didn't go out when we left for the hospital this morning. Jen is having contractions every min or two, they are strong but she really cant feel them with the meds. She is happy for all the prayers that people are sending for us, hopefully our new arrival will be here soon.

11 am, hour 6

Here we are, We are calling this picture Popsicle Jen! Contractions are getting stronger, pitosin is at 14, and she can feel her belly tighten on every contraction. They are about a min or 2 min apart. Jen is pain free and cant wait to have our new arrival in the world with us.

10 am, hour 5

Strong contractions every 2-3 min. The epidural is in, and she is getting a little numb. Jen's mom is here and is helping her with the breathing. We are looking for the Dr to come back in around lunch. Will update again in an hour.

Almost 9 am, Hour 4

The water has been broken, I say again, the water has been broken! The Dr. came in and broke her water, she is dilated to a 3 and 75% effaced. She is progressing and things look good so far. No Epidural yet, but maybe in the next hour. Jen says she feels like she is going to the bathroom, and feels some cramping, but the contractions are starting to ramp up. Talk to you guys in an hour.

8 am, Hour 3

Jen is having contractions, they are small and about 10-15 min apart. We are waiting for the Dr. to come in to break the old water. Her friend who is the chief resident "Dee Adams" came in and took a look at everything. She is good and not in pain, the nurses are looking for the pain, ha ha. I will take a pic after everything else. Talk to everyone soon.

7 AM

We are in the waiting mode, they have ramped up the pitocin a little, Jen says that it feels like hunger pains. Last check she was still dialated at 2. Nothing new besides that, we are having fun watching SportsCenter. Will post again in an hour. No new pic this time, nothing has changed.

6 AM, Here we go!

Pitocin is in, Baby's heart rate is great. Jen is still at 2cm dialated. Dr. should be in around 8 am to break her water. We are still excited and Jen keeps having to go to the bathroom. No contractions yet.

Induction Day!!!! 2 July 09

5 am, we are here and ready to go. We are inducing today, so hopefully everything works out great. We have all the stuff, and you can see by the pics that Jen is in the bad and ready to get started. The Dr. is supposed to be here by around 8 am. I will try to update every hour or so.
